Where I've Been + Life Changes

Top // Jeans // Shoes // Hat // Bag // Lips

Hey ladies! I've been so inconsistent lately with my blog and social media and I apologize for that. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things so I thought I should share what's been going on in my life and where I've been lately.

Around August, I was fortunate enough to gain a higher position at my job as a social media manager which meant more responsibility. It came to a point where I realized that I was too distracted from my own blog/social media and couldn't keep up with the pressure that I had at my full-time job. I decided that I had to get rid of distractions and really focus so I took some time off from blogging and became much more relaxed with it (something that I haven't done, the past 4 years of blogging). It resulted in being able to succeed at my job and create content for my company that I was proud of. The best part was that I was able to focus on my real life more, which is something that I've always struggled with. I work in the social media industry so naturally, I pretty much live ONLINE. Real life, just never felt as exciting as social media does and I realized how unhealthy that kind of thinking is. It felt like I was wasting my real life away. Once I took a step back and created healthier habits (such as going home after work and NOT going on social media), I felt better and more balanced.

I highly recommend every blogger or social media person, to step back and focus on other areas of your life - just as much as life online. There's so many great opportunities out there that you might be missing out on! Other than my career improving, I was even able to form a new relationship with someone special (and no I won't be posting him all over the place on social media LOL), form some new friendships with other bloggers and even pursue other hobbies like interior design (I can't wait to show everyone what I've been working on!).

Have you been taking more time to pursue your "real" life? What are some ways that you disconnect from the social media world? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks for reading,
