The One Skincare Product That Every Lazy Girl Should Use

When it comes to skincare, I've always been a bit...lazy. For some reason I don't mind testing out new makeup products and spending hours in front of the mirror perfecting a beauty look. But skincare? It's just not my thing. Skincare routines are usually so high maintenance, require multiple products, and of course waiting for the products to kick in and start working and then getting frustrated if it doesn't. It can take months to see good results and to figure what works and what doesn't. Quite frankly, who has time for all that?! For a while now, I've been searching for that one product that's effortless yet delivers incredible results. Did I also mention I suffer from adult acne? Yup, I'm asking for a lot here lol.

Recently, I got the opportunity to try the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Mask and I couldn't help but find the mask fascinating and unique compared to other skincare products. I've always heard good things about light therapy but since it only used to be available at dermatologists' offices for an expensive price (it could cost up to $500 per treatment!), it wasn't an option until now. The Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Mask uses the same technology to treat acne and allows skin to heal itself without the harsh chemicals. The best part is that 98% of people that were tested had fewer breakouts and visible results in as little as 1 week. No messy residue, no need to use a bunch of products, and a short waiting period. Count me in! The mask is specifically for people with heavy acne but if you suffer from breakouts every once in a while and they're not too aggressive, then there's the Neutrogena® Light Therapy Acne Spot treatment.

Not going to lie, once I saw what the mask looked like I was a bit intimidated by it. Plus isn't exposing your skin to light so much going to have negative effects over time? Here's how it works: the mask uses blue light therapy to target bacteria that causes acne which is just beneath the surface while the red light therapy goes deeper into the skin in order to reduce inflammation. It's clinically proven, FDA cleared, and UV-free so the light causes no harm to the skin.

In order to use the mask, you need to make sure you have a clean face which means removing your makeup (my personal favorite is Neutrogena® Cleansing Makeup Remover Towelettes which I've been using for years now!) and/or washing your face with a light cleanser such as Neutrogena® Deep Clean Daily Facial Cleanser.

Then you simply put on the mask which is super comfortable and lightweight and has slots for your eyes and press the button on the 30 day activator and that's it! It's so nice to be able to multitask while I wait for the mask to do all of the work.

Alright, now let's talk about the price because let's face it: this mask looks expensive and it's quite an innovative product. The mask can be found at the health and beauty aisle of Wal-Mart (for the everyday price of $30!) and comes with the 30 day activator. After the 30 days are over, you need to purchase another activator for only $14.97 which means you're only spending 50 cents per day in order to use light therapy that's also used at dermatologist offices. Pretty good deal if you ask me!

Have you tried the mask? Let me know what you think!
