Tips For Selling Your Clothes On Ebay

During my college years (that sounds really weird to say since I just graduated lol) I always depended on Ebay for some extra money and a way to get rid of old clothes in my closet. I've been lucky enough to make some good money off of it and at one point, I remember going to the post office at least once a week to ship stuff! I highly recommend giving it a try before you start selling stuff on places like Poshmark or even worse...Plato's Closet/Clothes Mentor which gives so little for designer clothes. Here are my best tips for getting started on Ebay and getting the most for your clothes:

Put Everything On Bid

In the past couple of years that I've been using Ebay, I've never sold anything with buy it now and always put it on bid. It increases your chances of having multiple sellers "fighting" for that one product and you'll most likely sell it for a higher price that you had originally posted. Plus it's fun to see the price go up haha.

Aim To Sell It For 5-7 Days

Ebay gives you the option to choose how many days you want to sell a product and while I know it's tempting to sell it in one or two days, try to aim for 5-7 days in order to get as many people as possible to view your product. Plus people are usually indecisive and need some time to think if they want to buy a product or not so having it up a few more days makes a huge difference.

Clear Titles & A Good Description

Think about how people search for products on Ebay and make sure to give a good title which includes the size as well as a good description. In the description I always mention that the clothing item comes from a pet and smoke free home (which is true in my case but don't lie if it isn't haha) and that the buyer should feel free to message you with any questions.

Offer Cheap Shipping

While it's nice to offer free shipping for your buyers (and might cause your products to sell quicker), it can get expensive for the seller so at least offer your buyers the cheapest shipping option. I usually go with USPS first class mail or priority mail!

Hope these tips helped! Do you use any other places to sell your clothes that I haven't mentioned? Let me know below!

New Beauty Products That You Need For The Summer

In my opinion, summer is all about effortless beauty and taking more time to take care of yourself. I'm always adding new things to my collection this time of year since there's so many great products that have just hit the market and will be a big hit in the next couple of months. Here's what I'm keeping an eye out for:

Dior Lip Tattoo in "Natural Rosewood" - I always have some sort of lipstick on but during the summertime I want something a little more lightweight and this claims to stain your lips for 10 hours and boosts the natural color of your lips. It also comes in three other shades!

IGK Prenup Instant Spray Hair Mask - A hair mask that you spray on in the shower? I can't wait to try this! Plus I love the packaging of IGK products.

Phyto PhytoSpecific Cleansing Care Cream - Since I have curly hair that's dry and damaged, I'm always looking for something moisturizing and this no-lather cream is designed to clean and provide moisture in one step.

BECCA x Chrissy Teigen Glow Palette - I'm a huge fan of Chrissy and this palette is perfect all year-round but especially for tan summer skin.

Jo Malone Nectarine Blossom & Honey - For a few years now, I've been working part time in a perfume shop and love when we get new limited edition summer fragrances. I'm a huge fan of Jo Malone and their natural scents and this one smells delicious and light.

Sephora Collection Moisturizing & Refreshing Body Jelly - I suffer from dry skin year-round and hate putting on heavy lotions during the summer so body jelly sounds like a dream!

Tarte Spellbound Glow Rainbow Highlighter - I always believed that the best time of year to wear highlighter is the summer since there's so much sunlight and I'm obsessed with this rainbow highlighter that contains 4 shades that you can use separately or blend together.

What are you loving for the summertime? Any products that I missed? Let me know below!

How I Got Rid Of My Coffee Addiction

Hey guys! I know I promised this post a long time ago but I always like to take my time with these kinds of lifestyle posts and quite honestly, giving health advice can be difficult! Not everyone's experience will be the same and my methods might not work for everyone so keep that in mind. Over a month ago, I decided to kick my healthy eating up a notch and decided to get rid of my coffee addiction cause it was making me super jittery, giving me tons of mental fogginess (I'm not quite sure how I managed to survive college like this! I think it was the extra energy), and making me go broke since buying a cup of iced coffee everyday can add up. I decided to quit and I'm so happy to not be addicted to it anymore and to let myself once in a while have a cup without feeling like I'm dependent on it and can just finally enjoy the taste! In case you're wondering, I only have a cup once every couple of weeks! Crazy compared to buying a cup every morning for the past couple of years and telling myself that it's "okay and that I should feel lucky that I'm not addicted to anything else" ha! Here's how I did it:

Don't Go Cold Turkey

If you're someone who has been dependent on coffee for years (yup, that's me!) then randomly quitting one day won't help at all and will make you crave coffee even more. Instead I choose to slowly wean myself off of it by going from drinking coffee 7 days a week to drinking it 5 days a week and not drinking it on the weekends. This really helped since I need coffee the most on the weekdays when I'm going to class. Then after I got used to that, I dropped it to four days a week, then three days, and then finally when I felt ready, once a week. It came to a point where I realized that life without coffee was so much better cause I could think clearly again, felt more awake (even when I was tired, it wasn't the same kind of tired that I felt with coffee! so strange!), and felt so much healthier.

Substitute With "Lower" Caffeine

Once in a while, if my coffee cravings really got out of hand I would drink green tea, peppermint tea, or even lemon water to make me feel better and give me an extra energy boost but in a more natural way. Personally, I hate the taste of tea so I didn't rely on this method a lot plus I was afraid I would still be addicted to caffeine so I only did this in the beginning. You would be surprised at how much this helps though! I think it's the placebo effect and just tricking your mind.

Take Naps

Since your body has been dependent on coffee for a while, your body will feel weird for a bit and you might find yourself with side effects in the beginning such as feeling tired and getting headaches. Around this time, I was taking a lot of power naps in order to get myself through it and if you have the time, then I highly recommend it!

Exercise + Drink More Water

I always work out and drink tons of water throughout the day but when I was trying to quit my addiction, I relied on working out even more to give me more energy and water to constantly make me feel hydrated and more awake. Plus working out takes your mind off of the fact that you're no longer drinking coffee and will make you feel so much better when you have crazy mood swings and other strange side effects!

I hope this post helps! I know it's tough getting rid of this addiction and can feel like it's going to take forever but I promise it's worth it at the end and you'll feel so much better! Just hang in there! And let me know if you have other tips or what your experience was like!

One Shoulder + Stripes

Dress: c/o SheIn // Shoes: Steve Madden via DSW // Bag: Zara // Buckle bracelet: Michael Kors // Kite Bracelet: Alex & Ani "Inspiration in Flight" // Birthstone Bracelet: Alex & Ani "February" birthstone // Pisces Bracelet: Alex & Ani

If there's one trend that I'm really excited about this summer it's the one shoulder trend. Over the years, I've found a few pieces that are one shoulder but it's nice when it's trendy again so I can stock up. SheIn was kind enough to send this dress and at first I thought it was too short but once I put it on, it actually fits perfectly and despite the fabric being thin, it's not see-through. It's perfect for humid summer weather and you can wear it out for lunch or even as a cover up at the beach. The best part is that it's only $17 so make sure to grab it before it's sold out!

As for what's happening outside of the blog, I've just been spending all my time researching and applying for jobs and hopefully coming closer to achieving my goal of moving out of Rochester by the end of the summer. I've been trying to enjoy my free time as well since college is officially over but it's so hard when you don't have a job and you're seeing all of your friends get a job and going to work and starting a new part of their lives and you're just sitting at home lol. I'm just trying to remind myself that good things come to those who wait! Also good luck to everyone that's trying to find a job out there, I know it's hard! Hang in there!

Graduation + Words of Wisdom

Dress: BCBG Maxazria, sold out // Shoes: Steve Madden via DSW // Lipstick: Sonia Kashuk Lip Crayon "Rosey Nude"

Today's the day! As I post this, I'm probably in my car on the way to the graduation ceremony and complaining about how early it is haha. Last night when I was preparing this post, it hit me that years from now I'll look at these pictures and remember how precious and special it is to graduate from college. As for the graduation look, I wanted to do something unique with my look and went for the flower crown which fit perfectly around my graduation hat and luckily found one in my school colors over on Amazon. I tried to make the flower crown myself but fake flowers at places like Michael's is just awful! Plus this one had a ribbon that tied in the back and looks gorgeous and only $14. Here's the link.

As for graduating college quite honestly, I had some of the best moments of my life in college but also the worst. I went through a lot of dark days and sometimes thought that I wouldn't make it cause life was just too hard. Yet that's the thing about growth, you can't appreciate it until it's all over. It was so necessary for me to go through these changes and overcome obstacles in order to become the woman that I am today. I actually wrote a post about the best lessons that I've learned in college here. But for the first time in my life (and it's really hard for me to say this since I'm a perfectionist!) but I'm just so proud of myself and who I'm becoming and quite frankly...excited for the future! I hope every single one of you evolves and grows so much in your lives that you can stop and appreciate who you're becoming. The journey can be tough, but I promise that you're much more tougher. Make the best of the experience and go out and take chances, explore, constantly push yourself and realize that learning doesn't just take place in a classroom and that there's no such thing as the typical college experience. And remember, college isn't the best four years of your life (just like high school isn't!) because life can always get better. I remember writing about how much better life got after high school in my "Perks After High School" post (throwback from 2014, crazy!) but I have a feeling it's going to get even better after college.

Lastly, thank you to everyone that's been reading Sweet, Short & Stylish and supporting me through this journey! I started my blog in college and it's the reason why I found my passion in life and it's evolved with me over the years and I couldn't have done it without you guys!

Congratulations to everyone that's graduating and to everyone that's still in college, hang in there! It will be all worth it soon!

Graduation Dresses Under $100

The big day is almost here (this Saturday to be exact!) and I realized that my college actually does it's graduation so early compared to other colleges so I still had some time to post some of my favorite graduation dresses that I've been eyeing! Finding the perfect dress for graduation can be tricky since you don't want to go over the top since it's a daytime event but it's also a big moment in life and you want to look and feel special. That's why I tried to find dresses for all styles and tastes and keep it under $100 since most of us is graduating with college debt haha. They also work well for other occasions such as weddings, baby showers, or even graduation parties!

Happy shopping!

Photography Makeup Essentials

I've always loved this time of year since there's so many events that pop up such as graduation, prom, and weddings which means special occasion makeup! Which in my opinion, is the best kind of makeup and always fun to create. Since there's tons of photography at these kinds of events, I like to use different products that will help prevent any photo disasters and make me look Insta-worthy (why even go to these events if we can't get a good Insta pic?! haha JK). Here are my essentials that I've been using ever since my high school prom days and have made doing makeup for events so much easier:

I know, I know SPF is super important! But when it comes to photography makeup, the less SPF your foundation has, the better. When the flash from a camera bounces off of skin filled with SPF, it causes a white mask to appear over your face in photos and trust me, it's not a pretty sight! Unless you're going to be taking photos outside in daylight, I recommend a foundation with SPF 15 or less. My go-to is Mac Pro Longwear with SPF 10 and has high coverage which looks great in photos.

While I don't use a primer on an everyday basis (except for my eyes when I'm wearing heavy eyeshadow), using a primer all over your face will help prep your skin and make foundation look so much better in photos. Smashbox's Photo Finish Primer line is perfect since it hides all kinds of skin problems but if you're looking for a cheaper alternative I love L'Oreal's Magic Perfecting Base which has a soft, marshmallow texture which feels great on the skin (so hard to describe! haha).

As for eyeshadows and blushes/bronzers, make sure to stick to matte colors since they look much more flattering in photos and actually shows up compared to shimmery powders which disappears. I personally limit shimmers to my eyelids (no where near the crease!) so that way there's still some sparkle but it's not overpowering. My favorite matte palettes are Urban Decay's Naked Ultimate Mattes and Tarte's Tartlette Amazonian Clay Palette.

When setting your makeup, make sure to avoid white translucent powders and stick to yellow. Although translucent powder looks invisible in person, it actually shows up on your face when using flash photography! Google Angelina Jolie and translucent powder and you'll see what I mean lol. Right now I'm loving Bobbi Brown's Sheer Pressed Powder and for a drugstore alternative, Physican Formula's Mineral Cushion Correct Powder.

I always finish my makeup look with a setting spray especially if the event is going to be a long one and I need my makeup to stay in place (especially when you have oily skin!). My holy grail is Urban Decay's All Nighter which lasts 7-8 hours on me.

Hope this post was helpful!

For The Love of Bows

Top: c/o SheIn // Jeans: J. Crew // Bag: Vintage Chanel // Sunglasses: Dior "Origins" via Nordstrom

Well, it's official.....I'm done with college forever! I took my last final on Thursday and quite honestly, I've been so emotional and mentally exhausted that I just needed to take a few days off. While I'm so happy that it's all over, there's also the weight of it...all being over. Over the years, I've become attached to college especially because I went for an extra year since I switched majors and I guess I just miss the routine of it all. Like seeing my friends everyday and my favorite professors and now realizing that I'll never be able to go back to the experience and wish I appreciated it more. I know that this sadness will pass and the excitement of the future will take over soon (especially once I find a job and can officially move!) but I think these kinds of feelings are healthy and sometimes we just need to embrace them in order to move on. Okay, this post went in a completely different direction than what I was thinking haha. I guess I just needed to vent!

Now onto the outfit, SheIn was kind enough to send me some new spring essentials like this bow top which I got so many compliments on and it's only $14! The designer version is $350 over on Shopbop so this is a steal and the quality isn't awful especially for the price! I know some things at SheIn can be hit or miss but this is definitely a hit in my book! Normally I wear a Small in tops but I know that most things run small on SheIn so I went with a Large and I'm so glad I did since this fits perfectly so make sure to size up. I'll be showing more pieces from SheIn soon on the blog so make sure to stay tuned.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Graduation Gift Guide

With graduation right around the corner for me (next Saturday! #finally), I thought this would be the perfect time to create a graduation gift guide. I decided to include items that are perfect for all sorts of budgets and that you could easily gift to a family member or for a friend. Or ya know, just treat yourself for four very long years of hard work haha. I also linked everything below for easy shopping!

Here's what I'm loving:

Alex & Ani Grad Bracelet - Perfect for the Alex & Ani collector or just someone who loves jewelry. Plus it comes in silver and how adorable is that graduation hat?!

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick - Is there anything more classic than Chanel? I'm a huge fan of their lipsticks cause they're so hydrating and plus the packaging is just timeless and perfect for the working girl.

Kate Spade Watch - I already own a few Kate Spade watches and they always come in the most beautiful designs and this neutral one is perfect to wear everyday.

Scallop Heels - How cute are these for the summer?! If you're heading on vacation or just going to a lot of grad parties, then these are perfect!

Kendra Scott "Addie" Earrings - I love the new collection of Kendra Scott earrings and these opal and gold ones make a beautiful gift for you or for a grad.

Gucci GG Marmont Camera Mini Bag - This one's quite splurge-worthy (aka ask your parents as a grad gift haha) but it's at a good price point compared to other Gucci bags plus it's in black which means you'll be getting tons of use out of it and can wear it with every outfit. Or at least that's what you should tell your parents!

Gucci Marmont Card Case - For something designer but much more budget-friendly, check out this card case which comes in a beautiful variety of colors but I love this neutral rose one. Plus you can throw it into your bag when you're on the go and keeps everything organized.
