Spring is officially here which means switching up our beauty routines for something lighter and in my case, brighter. During the winter, I'm all about moisturized lips and tend to stick to mattes and neutrals and instead go heavier on the eyes since my makeup won't be constantly melting off. Yet during the spring and summer, I'm all about a bright lip. Since the weather has been rainy and gloomy lately, I decided this was the perfect time to share how to achieve my favorite lip look with you gals:

1. Prep Your Lips

First I like to start by applying a lip scrub which is necessary whenever you're going to put on lipstick  since it easily shows signs of dry skin. Gently massage it into your lips and remove with a washcloth.

2. Whiten Your Teeth

Next I've recently started to use Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste since years of drinking coffee in college has taken a toll on my teeth and makes me feel self-conscious whenever I smile. What I love about this product is that it's safe to use daily unlike other whitening toothpastes. With Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste, it safely whitens the outside as well as the inside of your teeth since it contains hydrogen peroxide which is a dentist recommended ingredient.

3. Lip Liner

Once you're done, I recommend lining your lips with lip liner since you want the lipstick to look neat and polished. Here, I'm using a nude shade lip liner which easily blends in with any lip color and makes your lips look plump.

4. The Right Shade of Lipstick

As for the lipstick, my secret tip is to choose a shade with a blue undertone which helps to make your teeth appear whiter. Why? If you look at a color wheel, blue and orange/yellow sit across from each other which means blue tends to cancel out orange/yellow tones which comes in useful when those tones are typically found on your teeth!

5. Highlight

Lastly, if you have a small top lip like I do then use a small amount of highlighter on your cupid's bow and blend with your finger or small brush. This way, the light will reflect off of it which will help make your top lip look a little bigger.

There you have it, the perfect lip look for spring! Make sure to pick up the new Colgate® Optic White® RADIANT™ Toothpaste at your local Kroger store.

  1. I really need a good whitening toothpaste. I'm going to see if they carry it at my grocery store.
