POPSUGAR October Must Have Box

(Must Have box gifted by POPSUGAR in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.)

Oh POPSUGAR how you disappointed me with your September box. I mean a hat that doesn't even fit my head? Come on, now. But this October Must Have box completely gave me hope again because this box was seriously the best! If you're a lover of all things fall then I'm sure you'll love this box. Just in case you want to try the POPSUGAR Must Have box for yourself, just use the code "SHOP5" for $5 off your first box! Here's what I got:

Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen + Coupon (Retail: $8.99)

There's no such thing as owning too many black eyeliners in my book so I was glad that POPSUGAR included this in their box. I've been using this eyeliner everyday this week and it's actually one of the best eyeliners I've ever used! I never would've known since I don't buy Revlon products often. What's unique about this one is that the top of the pen has a round shape to it making the liner glide more comfortably and creates a sharp line easily. I'm DEFINITELY re-purchasing and I'm glad they included a $2 off coupon.

Power Your Happy book by Lisa Sugar (Retail: $25)

I'll admit, I don't read too often but I love books about female entrepreneurs (#Girlboss anyone?) so I'll have to give this one a try. It has tons of career and life advice as well as stories about Lisa Sugar, who's the founder of POPSUGAR.

The Makeup Eraser Mini (Retail: $12)

I've always heard of the Makeup Eraser and seen tons of Youtube videos on it. You basically wet it with warm water and it's supposed to remove all of your makeup and it's good for up to 1000 washes. I tried it twice and it takes off foundation pretty well but for heavy eye makeup not so much.

Lalicious Brown Sugar Vanilla Shower Oil & Bubble Bath (Retail: $28)

I always run out of shower gel products quickly so this was perfect for me. It smells exactly like fall and goes perfectly with the October theme. It's warm, comforting, and makes you smell like a bakery but in a good way.

Morning Culture Rise & Shine Mug (Retail: $16)

This paired with the hot cocoa mix that I talk about next was PERFECT for the October theme. The mug is just so cute, seems high quality, and is totally Instagram-worthy.

My Cup of Cocoa Dark Drinking Chocolate (Retail: $4.99)

I can confirm that this stuff is delicious! I mean you can't go wrong with hot cocoa and it's so simple to make since all you add is water.

Henri Bendel Umbrella (Retail: $58)

Saved the best for last and this is the reason why this box was so heavy! Henri Bendel is one of my favorite places to splurge for myself or to get a gift for a friend and it's pretty much a fashionista's candy shop in there! I was so surprised to find that they included this beautiful umbrella in the classic print along with the logo on the side. Rainy fall days just got so much more stylish!

Overall, I'm so pleased with this box and it totally made up for the fact that the September box wasn't that great. I mean just that umbrella was enough for me! haha. I can't wait to see what the November is going to have!

Pumpkin Farm

Top: Target // Jeans: J. Crew // Shoes: Marshalls // Bag: c/o Gucci via Bagdujour

One of the things that I was on my fall bucket list this year was to go to a pumpkin farm since I've only been to one when I was little. Crazy. How did I not know about this place before?! Although the weather was freezing since we went so late, the place was adorable and perfect for a fall shoot. Also have you noticed something different?! I switched up my hair again but I finally ACTUALLY LOVE MY HAIR! Although the blonde was nice, I noticed that clothes and makeup just didn't look good on me and having a brunette base makes all the difference. It's safe to say that I won't be dyeing my hair like a crazy person ever again after what I went through these past two months trying to go blonde haha. What a nightmare that was. All that wasted money could've been spent on clothes ugh. Well at least I just feel like myself again with this hair color!

As for the outfit, I'm wearing this new sweater from Target that I'm absolutely in love with (also comes in cream!) and keep getting so many compliments on! I just love the satin bottom and it paired well with my new Gucci crossbody from Bagdujour. I'll have a bag review up soon but I just couldn't wait to share it with you all cause it's so gorgeous.

As for what's going on outside of the blogging world, I'm actually headed to NYC for a weekend getaway! I actually booked the trip about a month ago and completely forgot about it because of how busy I've been with school but I totally need the escape. I interned there over the summer and regret not being able to take a lot of pics and blog at my favorite places because of how busy I was but that's not happening this time around! Plus I got invited to a once in a lifetime meeting and I can't wait to share with you all where it's at. Make sure to follow me on Instagram (@ruyakiraccc) and check out my Stories to see everything!

Barbie x Wildfox

Sweater: Wildfox // Jeans: Joe's // Shoes: Kenneth Cole Reaction // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban // Bag: Chanel (vintage) // Watch: Michael Kors // Lipstick: Mac "Twig" // Lipliner: Mac "Soar"

I cannot even tell you how long I've been dying to get a Wildfox sweater. I mean we're talking the Simple Life days with Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton (anyone remember that show or am I alone here?! haha). Well I finally got one and it's from the Barbie collection! Sadly it's sold out since I got it on sale but make sure to look around the Saks Fifth Avenue outlet cause I always see Wildfox sweaters there or shop the ones I linked below. I have a special place in my heart for Barbie since I was obsessed all throughout my childhood. I think I have around 40 Barbie's sitting in a box in the back of my closet (only child problems).

But anyways back to the sweater, it's soft and comfy just like all Wildfox sweater and has that vintage feel to it. My favorite part is the back with all the careers that Barbie has taken on over the years and it reminded me of my childhood and how I used to wonder what career I would have when I'm older. I could never decide back then on just one and the nice part about studying Media Management and being a blogger is that you have so many different roles! It's funny, in the beginning of college I used to worry to death about what I should major in and my career yet all that worry was for nothing cause things worked out in the end. Sometimes you need to let go and trust the process. Woah, this post took a different turn then I thought it would haha. Who knew sweaters could remind you of life lessons?

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Voxbox

(Received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. All opinions are my own.)

A Make Up For Ever voxbox? Yup, Influenster is just on top of it's game lately with it's beauty voxboxes! A lot of you gals were asking me on Instagram how I can possibly qualify for so many voxboxes containing high end beauty products and that's probably because I've reviewed so many on Influenster! If you're a beauty junkie like I am, then make sure to sign up for Influenster and connect your Facebook account and start reviewing products in order to qualify for voxboxes! It's that simple.

I'll admit, at first I was excited to receive this voxbox and usually don't like to check emails from Influenster which reveals what's going to be inside cause I like to be surprised. But a voxbox that includes foundation? That's tough. 9 times out of 10, the foundation won't be the same shade as your skin and unfortunately that's what happened to me. This voxbox included the Ultra HD foundation (always heard great things about this) and the Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation. I decided to get the Stick Foundation in a darker color since it looked like it would be perfect for contouring but the shade ended up being too light while the Ultra HD foundation also ended up being a few shades too light! Ugh.

Anyways, I ended up testing out both so I can write a review and quite frankly I was disappointed in the Ultra HD foundation which has been talked about a lot and a lot of people swear by. It claims it's a high coverage foundation when in reality, I would say it's medium coverage and buildable. I always know when a foundation isn't high coverage when my freckles haven't been completely covered as you can see in the photo below:

On the plus side, it's super lightweight and goes on smoothly so if you're looking for an everyday medium coverage foundation that will cover up redness and some imperfections then give this one a try.

As for the Stick Foundation, it was super creamy and I love the packaging which makes it easy to dip a brush into or use directly on your face for contouring. I wouldn't recommend this for using as a regular foundation since the consistency is very thick and might make your fall look cakey. I also wouldn't recommend it for oily or acne-prone skin since it might make your skin greasy.

What do you think about Make Up For Ever products? Have you tried these products before?

Beauty Box 5

(Sponsored by Beauty Box 5. Received product in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.)

Hi lovelies! It's been a pretty chaotic week and I apologize for not updating as much. A few weeks ago on Instagram Stories (@ruyakiraccc), I showed a sneak peek of this subscription box service which is called the Beauty Box 5. Basically for $12 a month, you get 5 beauty samples and it includes free shipping! They were kind enough to send me a free box so I can share my opinions with you gals. Here's what I got:

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes + $1 Off Coupons

There's no such thing as owning too many makeup wipes. I go through them so quickly and I've never tried anything from the Simple line so this was so useful for me! Plus I love when subscription box services include coupons just in case I fall in love with the product and want to re-purchase. This one felt soft on the skin but it was a bit difficult getting off my eyeliner and mascara.

Go Smile Teeth Whitening Gel

This one was my favorite product! The Go Smile brand is also new to me and I'll admit, I didn't really care about teeth whitening before using this. Now I'm obsessed! All you do is put some regular toothpaste on your toothbrush, then this gel on top (make sure it's the same portion as the toothpaste) and brush your teeth without wetting your brush. At first it felt strange not wetting the brush, but now I've gotten used to it and it lifted all the coffee stains from my teeth in a week! The results are incredible and I'll definitely be re-purchasing the full size bottle.

Pur-Lisse Daily Moisturizer
Ehh. This one I wasn't a fan of and it's probably because I already own so many moisturizers anyways and would've liked to see something different. It's great if you want to throw it in your purse and has high SPF so your skin is protected all day. Also it soaks into your skin quickly and doesn't feel greasy. But still, I could take it or leave it.

Be A Bombshell Smooth Criminal Powder

I forgot to take a picture of this product but this is the only makeup product that was included in this box which I was disappointed about because I was expecting more makeup. I've never heard of the Be A Bombshell line but the Smooth Criminal Powder is perfect for patting on top of under eye concealer and making sure it doesn't budge throughout the day.

Happy Hair Turban

I was surprised to find this in the box since it's actually a full size product! But I've always heard good things about the Happy Hair Turban and how it's supposed to dry your hair quicker while leaving it tangle-free. Quite honestly, I didn't notice a difference and while it's cute in theory, I just don't really need it cause I have plenty of towels haha.

Overall, I'm disappointed in this subscription box. I just was expecting more especially when it comes to makeup products. While all these products combined are worth more than $12, I still don't think it's worth subscribing to this. I gotta be honest, am I right? But who knows, maybe they will make their next subscription boxes better. It's difficult to make a good review about a service like this when you're only judging it based on one box #Bloggerprobs.

The Floral Bomber

Jacket: Who What Wear for Target // Jeans: Paige // Boots: Marshalls // Bag: Chanel Boy via Bagdujour c/o

No matter what the season is, I'm still going to wear florals. This one I bought about a month ago and it's perfect for fall with it's dark colors and it's from everyone's favorite place...Target! They also have the dress version which I linked. What I love about the jacket is that it's made out of a thinner material compared to other bomber jackets and it's light enough to wear on a warm fall day yet you could also wear a sweater underneath on colder days. Highly recommend you check it out before it's sold out for good!

Don't really have too much to say in this post, I had a busy weekend at Upstate Social Sessions which is a social media conference here in Rochester and working on a group project which I'm presenting on Weds. It's pretty much that time of the semester where your constantly stressed out and just want to nap all the time haha.

A Deeper Clean With Clarisonic

This is a sponsored post in partnership with Clarisonic and Her Campus Media. All words and opinions are my own.

If there's one brand that I've been wanting to try out for years, it's Clarisonic. I mean it's just everywhere and the most intriguing part is that I've heard nothing but great things about it! How can I not be curious? Lately my skin has been breaking out from the stress of college so it was the perfect time to try something new and luckily I got the opportunity to try out the Mia 2 Deep Pore set!

The set includes the Deep Pore Daily Cleanser, Deep Pore Detoxifying Clay Mask, and of course the Mia 2 in a pretty blue color and the Deep Pore Brush Head which has two speeds. Just in case you've never heard of the Mia 2, it's a sonic cleansing device which provides a deeper clean with it's brush. What's unique about Clarisonic compared to just washing your face with your hands is that it cleans your face 6x better and results in cleaner skin. It's also gentle enough to use twice a day - even on sensitive skin and works for all skin types.

When I first got it out of the box, I realized that I had to charge it for 18 hours before my first use and as strange as this sounds, I actually found the magnetic charging device so unique and modern! Since the Mia 2 is waterproof, it has no plug so the charging device is magnetic and simply attaches onto the handle and glows solid when it's fully charged.

After it was charged, I first wet the brush and my skin (make sure to remove eye makeup before doing this) and then patted some of the daily cleanser on my skin. Don't rub in the cleanser since the brush is going to do that work for you. Since this was my first time using the brush, I chose to put it on the low speed and was surprised to find that it actually has a timer which I never knew about! It automatically pauses and makes a beeping sound when it's time to move onto another section of your face! I thought that was genius since I can't really tell if I'm washing my face too much when I'm just using my hands. The timer is set to one minute so it's 20 seconds on your forehead, 20 seconds on your nose/chin, and 10 seconds on each cheek.

The Results

The brush was super gentle and it almost felt like nothing was happening because of how soft it was! Once I was done I remember thinking to myself: "that's it?!" cause the entire process was so quick and simple. Yet once I washed off the cleanser at the end, I instantly knew that I would never go back to washing with my hands again. I'm not sure how to describe it, but my skin was glowing and tingly and felt much more clean than it has in ages. You can tell that the brushes cleaned much more than the surface of my skin. Afterwards I put on my usual moisturizer and noticed that the moisturizer just seemed to glide on and seemed to soak in and dry quicker than it has before.

After my first day, I noticed that there was less oil on the t-zones of my face and once I got to day three, I noticed that those pesky blackheads on the sides of my nose that I can never get rid of was finally gone. After a week, some of the bumps around my forehead had completely disappeared and the large pores on my nose looked A LOT smaller than they were before.

Overall, I'm so happy that I was able to try this product because it's going to be a staple in my skincare routine. I just can't imagine going back to washing my face with my hands cause it's just not the same! I highly recommend giving the Mia 2 a try, especially if you have troubled skin or just obsessed with beauty products like I am. Plus it could be a great gift for a loved one's birthday or if you want to start planning out Christmas gifts in advance.

Clarisonic was kind enough to provide a 15% off coupon code if you feel like purchasing the Mia 2 set. The code is "HERCAMPUS" and is valid through October 31.

October Love

Shirt: J. Crew Factory // Jeans: Paige // Boots: Marshalls // Bag: Target // Hat: Target, check in stores // Lips: Mac "Twig"

This past weekend was pretty much the perfect fall weekend. My bestie and I decided to take a day trip to Buffalo and head to a fall festival which reminded me of why I love this season so much. The weather was in the 60's and the leaves seemed to have changed colors overnight which made it a gorgeous drive and naturally I had to dress for the occasion. I wanted something comfy for a long day on my feet but also embrace the season so I went with my go-to chambray shirt and the SOFTEST black jeans from Paige. I wish I could wear these jeans everyday because that's how comfy they are! Paige jeans are pricey but they're definitely worth the investment cause they don't feel like any other jeans that I've tried. As for the hat and bag, they're both from Target (their fall collection has really been on point lately) and I love how unique they are especially the two-tone hat. I've never seen a hat like it!

Sadly, we didn't get to eat donuts and apple cider (you should've seen how long the line was! ugh) but being able to escape for a day and forget about college and just do fun stuff like take pictures, film some funny stuff on Instagram Stories (which I'm sure you can tell, I'm obsessed with!), and finding a gorgeous coffee shop in the middle of nowhere made the drive worth it. It's funny how breaking out of your routine and doing something completely different over the weekend can make you feel re-energized once Monday comes back around again. I should do this more often!

Hope everyone has a smooth and stress-free Monday!

Chanel Boy Medium Flapbag in Black Patent

(Sponsored by Bagdujour. Product received for testing purposes. All opinions are mine alone.)

If there's one bag that I've always dreamed of having, it's a Chanel bag. They're so iconic, classic, and can be worn for years to come because of how timeless they are. Thanks to Bagdujour, my dream came true when they let me borrow their Chanel Boy bag for a month. It's in the medium size and comes in black patent calfskin which feels super smooth yet looks sleek and is perfect for the fall. Although the bag is a bit heavy because of the chain straps, it's still lightweight enough to carry everywhere you go and trust me you'll want to carry this all the time! I don't think I've ever gotten so many compliments on a bag in my entire life!

Although I'm usually not a fan of flapbags because they can be difficult to close, with this one it's so easy because you just squeeze the two silver buttons on the sides of the logo in order to open it and then know it's closed when you hear a snapping sound. Hopefully that makes sense haha! It's not like other flapbags that have a magnetic buckle which gets annoying when you can't line it up right.

As you can see the strap isn't completely made out of chain and the leather portion is adjustable which is great for petite people like me who have a shorter torso. It also doesn't dig into your shoulder since it's so lightweight and smooth. I own so many crossbody bags so I feel like I'm an expert by now and this is the best one that I've ever used. Not only do Chanel bags have great designs but they're functional and comfortable to carry. I just wish I could keep this one longer cause I don't want to part with it!

If you feel like borrowing an authentic designer bag, then make sure to check out Bagdujour! They are a monthly bag borrowing service which has a large variety of beautiful bags such as Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, and Valentino. I already reviewed the Louis Vuitton Monogram Tote, Saint Laurent Baby Sac Du Jour, and the Chloe Drew Flower Patchwork Bag and have nothing but great things to say about this company.

How to Organize Your Makeup With ittse

This post is in partnership with ittse. Received products in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.

When it comes to makeup, I'm all about palettes. The only problem is I have way too many palettes to count and always have a hard time finding the right one to use in the mornings or being forced to take a couple whenever I go on vacation. Luckily, I recently got the opportunity to try ittse which is a beauty brand that's known for their custom palettes. You simply choose whatever kind of makeup you want and they have over 100 products such as eye shadows, blushes, bronzers, lip colors, etc. and organize it all into a palette! You have no idea how much more simple it is to get ready in the mornings and only have to take out one palette for your makeup! Here's what I got:

They were kind enough to send me these three eye shadows:

Hieroglyph - a warm dark brown with shimmer which is perfect for fall

Grace - a matte cream shadow which is perfect to use a base

Discotheque - a pretty magenta with shimmer

All three eye shadows were super pigmented and went on smoothly and although I probably wouldn't have chosen an eye shadow like Discotheque to add to my collection, I tried it out with the other two colors and it looks so gorgeous when it's blended in! Goes to show that sometimes it's nice to take risks with makeup and try something different.

They also sent me a bronzer (my favorite kind of makeup), blush, and brow powder:

St. Tropez - a warm golden bronzer with shimmer that's great if you're super pale like I am and need a sun-kissed glow

Dreamhouse -  a neutral and matte pink with a touch of peach in it which is a color that I don't have in my collection so I'm excited to try it out

Toasted - a matte medium brown with a touch of grey in it which is usually the color I use to fill in my eyebrows and great if you already have dark brows and just want to fill in empty gaps

I also loved these three products but wish the blush and bronzer were a bit larger since I had a hard time putting enough product on my brushes but no complaints as far as the pigment goes!

Lastly, a custom magnetic palette in the color Anemone which is a gorgeous peach and makes it easy to find in a large purse and in my makeup drawer. I love the fact that I can arrange my makeup in any way I want and how it has a clear film to separate the makeup from the mirror so it doesn't get everywhere. It just keeps everything so neat and organized and you can even remove the eye shadows in your other palettes and move it to just one since it's magnetic.

Overall, I highly recommend giving ittse a try if you're a makeup lover who loves trying new products and want to keep everything organized. The best part is that the entire line is budget-friendly - perfect for us college girls!
