Effortless Skincare With Colleen Rothschild

I'll admit, I'm a bit of a skincare junkie. Ever since I was 13 and got my first pimple, I've been obsessing over keeping my skin healthy and clean and have been trying new products left and right. But sometimes, you just want to go back to the simple things and that's what I love about Colleen Rothschild skincare. They're products are no-fuss, modern, and most importantly, effective. Plus I love supporting female entrepreneurs who have a made a name for themselves in the beauty industry! #girlpower

They were kind enough to send me the Radiant Cleansing Balm and Clarifying Detox Mask and it was perfect timing since I had just come back from a trip to Istanbul (hello dry airplane air!). On top of it, I had just moved to NYC and was still adjusting to the ridiculous amount of toxins and pollution in the air along with constantly sweating from walking around outside all the time.

First I decided to use the Radiant Cleansing Balm because I've never tried a product like it before. It's a balm that claims to remove all signs of makeup and dirt and you put it on dry skin! I'm used to liquid products so this was unique to me but the process is so simple. All you do is take some of the balm and place it in your dry hands and warm it up by rubbing your hands together. Then, place it all over your face which is also supposed to be dry. Then wet the muslin cloth in hot water (this comes with the product!), wring damp, and place it over your skin for a few seconds. Lastly, you wipe off your makeup with the cloth and wash off with some cool water to leave your skin vibrant.

The results were incredible! Not only did all of my makeup come off, but my skin didn't feel dry and stripped of it's natural oils like it usually does when I take off my makeup. It was perfectly moisturized without feeling oily and I could go to bed knowing that there wouldn't be mascara stains on my pillow when I woke up. My only complaint is the smell of the product which is a bit heavy for me but it fades away after you wash it off so it wasn't a big deal.

As for the Clarifying Detox Mask, the main ingredients are charcoal and French Kaolin clay which helps to detox pores and helps give balance to the skin. Since I have combination skin, I'm constantly battling dry and oily skin at the same time so I needed something that would help to relieve these two problems. Once again, the smell is incredibly strong - this time with the charcoal, but it goes away once you wash it off. I left it on my face until it dried which was about 5-7 minutes and noticed that the blackheads around the sides of my nose had disappeared along with the oil on my t-zone! I'm impressed. My skin felt cleaner than it has been in a long time with this.

Overall, if you're looking for a new brand to try then I highly recommend Colleen Rothschild. Aside from these products, they have a large collection which includes moisturizers, serums, and even hand and body care! I can't wait to test out more products from them.
