We've all seen those old photos of people in the 1960's looking all chic while traveling on planes. Back then, there was something glamorous about traveling and I wish it still existed today. Of course, it's tough to think about fashion when you're going on an international flight or have to wear the comfiest shoes possible cause you're going to be walking in a big city all day! So what's a fashionista to do? With brands like Vera Bradley out there, it's easy to look stylish in this day and age! Here are my best tips to looking glam while traveling. Remember if all else fails, just think about all the likes on Instagram you're going to get! haha.
Tip 1: Hats and Scarves = Instantly Chic
If you're like me and don't have time to do your hair while traveling, then a hat is the way to go! It's perfect if you're going to meet someone right after a long flight and makes you look instantly polished. As for the scarf, they're a great way to accessorize, keeps you warm, and they're lightweight so you can easily put it in your bag.
Tip 2: Always Go With Flats
High heels? Wedges? I'd rather play it safe with a comfy pair of flats that have already been broken in. Still wanna wear sneakers? Try some cute slip on sneakers with pretty patterns and fabrics which are comfy, effortless (they have no laces!), and makes you look put together.
Tip 3: Vera Bradley Duffle Bags Are Your Best Friend
Forget about annoying suitcases and ridiculous fees, a duffle bag is the way to go! This one from Vera Bradley in the gorgeous color "Vera Vera Plum", is perfect for all sorts of travel plans and you'll be tempted to over-pack since it has so much room in it.
Just like most girls around my age, Vera Bradley is a brand that I grew up with and consider their duffle bags to be my best friend. They're unique, dependable, and sometimes you discover something
new about them. I mean just look at the inside of the bag! I've never seen that pattern before haha.
One of the things that stands out about Vera Bradley bags is the strong material and beautiful stitching. It's so pretty to look at yet never falls apart, no matter how much stuff I put into it. They also come in a variety of colors, patterns, and sizes. It's such a great investment and I consider it to be an essential for every traveler.
Tip 4: Great Makeup
You would be surprised at how much of a difference a little bit of makeup can do to make you look refreshed after a long flight. I usually like to pack one palette that might have a few neutral eyeshadows in it along with an evening lipstick (if we're going anywhere fancy) and a toner spray. The toner spray comes in handy if you have dry skin like me or just need to look awake after not sleeping on the plane.
Thanks for reading and safe travels if you're going anywhere for the holidays!
