Sweater Dress | 17 comments:

Dress: Francesca's (similar) (similar) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Hat: Target // Shoes: Marshalls, old (similar) (similar) // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Hey ladies! So glad it's finally Wednesday and we're halfway through the week. My life feels like it's dramatically changed in the past two weeks ever since I got a social media internship and a TA position for my social media professor on top of working a retail job, college, and of course blogging! I feel like a #girlboss but at the same time, so stressed out since I'm just getting used to this new lifestyle where things are constantly being added to my to-do list. Can we just go back to summer break?

At least I can depend on fashion to make me feel better. As you might've noticed, this is starting to become one of my favorite places to shoot. It's right near my house, has great lighting, and standing on the stairs makes me look taller! As for the outfit, this has become my new favorite dress for the fall since it's made out of a sweater material and would look so cute with tights and some riding boots when the weather actually feels like fall. Right now we're having that kind of weather where it's cold in the mornings but feels like you're gonna get a heatstroke in the afternoons haha. And this hat: obsessed. I've been finding so many cute stuff at Target lately! This hat will defiantly be on repeat this fall.

Collegiate Makeup Looks With L'Oreal | 3 comments:

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #LorealBeauty #CollectiveBias

They say that your eyes are the windows to your soul. I always believed this saying to be true and think eyes are the most beautiful features that everyone has. Whether your eyes are a warm brown or a striking blue, great makeup can define your eyes and enhance your beauty. When it comes to makeup, I can't leave the house without eyeliner and mascara on. Even when I'm running late, I always keep some extras in my school bag so I can put it on later. I can always count on them to instantly perk up my face and make me look refreshed and polished (although I'm feeling nowhere near that!). The brand that I've been using for years and always go back to is L'Oreal. Recently I discovered the Lineur Intense Brush Tip Liquid Eyeliner and the Voluminous Butterfly Mascara and love how I can use them for all sorts of looks and occasions. Since 90% of the time, I'm at college I decided that I should show you some college-appropriate looks that define your eyes while not being over the top.

Look #1

This is my everyday go-to look and is frequently seen in my blog posts cause it's just so effortless. The first step is to make sure your eyes are free of any makeup and just in case you have oily lids, now would be the time to put on some eye primer. Since my skin is dry, I usually go straight to Lineur Intense Brush Tip Liquid Eyeliner and prefer the brush since it glides smoothly and doesn't tug the delicate skin around my eyes. The second step is to practice making the perfect line by doing a couple practice strokes on the back of my hand. Next, I start by drawing a line in the middle of my eyelid as close to the lash line as possible and then draw in the inner and outer corners, creating one long line. The last step is to apply 2 coats of Voluminous Butterfly Mascara to both the top and bottom lashes for thick, defined lashes. Make sure to push the mascara comb up so that it coats each lash perfectly.

 Look #2

On the days where I'm feeling a little retro or just want my eye makeup to look more interesting, I'll do a cat eye. I recommend starting with look #1 and then extending the line up with small strokes. It helps to use a business card to get the angle just right on both eyes and make sure not to make it too long!

Look #3

In college, there's plenty of events to go to and if I need a fancier eye look I'll usually go with this one. Just start with look #2 and carefully apply liner to the bottom lid, stopping about halfway. If you make any mistakes simply dip a Q-tip in some makeup remover!

There's so many more looks you can create with these two products that can be found at your local Albertsons/Safeway stores.

Hope you enjoyed seeing my favorite college makeup looks. Have you tried these two L'Oreal products before? Let me know!

Fall Fashion Essentials | No comments:

Happy first day of fall everyone! I'm pretty sure that fall is everyone's favorite season including myn. From the leaves turning pretty colors to that chill in the air, it's just such an amazing time of the year. Of course after this season everything goes downhill haha. Upstate NY winters are brutal! But for now let's focus on the good. I got inspired and decided to do a fall essentials post featuring my favorite fashion pieces that will keep you warm and cozy. Every girl needs a good pair of riding boots, sweaters, and of course some fall lipsticks! Oh and let's talk about that Rebecca Minkoff suede fringe Mini Mac! I think a little fringe here and there can totally give an outfit a fun twist.

LC Runway Lace Top | 27 comments:

Top: LC Runway via Kohls (similar) // Skirt: J. Crew, sold out (similar) (similar) // Shoes: Sam Edelman, sold out (espadrilles) // Sunglasses: Target, check in stores (similar) (similar)

If there's one item that I've absolutely fell in love with from the Lauren Conrad Runway collection, it's this lace top with trumpet sleeves. It goes perfectly with the 70's revival that's going on right now in fashion. Is it just me or is it awesome to wear pieces that were popular in the past? Personally, I always felt like I was born in the wrong time so being able to wear clothes from past decades seems right. I'm interested to see what the next fashion revival is going to be!

Let's talk about the top: The scallop edges, the lace pattern, and the gorgeous sleeves is perfect for pairing with a fancy skirt for a night out or even with some high waisted jeans for a casual look. I paired it with my favorite J. Crew skirt and Sam Edelman flats that works with my girly sense of style. If you're interested in this top, I highly recommend buying it now since I'm sure it's going to be sold out quick. Especially because Lauren Conrad wore the white one during the finale of her fashion show!

Tory Burch Love: The Paris Collection | 1 comment:

A couple nights ago, I was in search for short films with great branding for a school assignment and naturally I would look towards fashion brands. I came across the Tory Burch film "L'Americaine" (so charming, go watch!) which was created in honor of their first Paris store featuring the limited edition Paris collection on their website. Of course, I would fall in love with the collection and thought I should share it with you all. Personally, I can't always splurge on Tory Burch items but a girl can dream right? The collection is the perfect mix between Parisian bohemian and feminine. The feather collar shirt and skirt is my favorite. The collection is selling out quick so make sure to get your hands on it before it sells out. I wish I wore stuff like this when I was in Paris this past summer! One day, one day...

Happy Friday!

Striped Trench Coat | 2 comments:

Trench coat: Michael Kors, sold out (similar) (similar) (similar) // Jeans: Abercrombie // Sunglasses: Coach, old (similar) // Shoes: Target

Hey ladies! My blog is still being redesigned so excuse the messy look. Even though it's still not fall yet I thought I should post this outfit featuring this amazing trench coat that I've actually been wanting to get for a couple months now. Funny story, I was going to buy this coat before my Europe trip but didn't want to spend a lot of money #collegegirlprobs so I waited until it went on sale but then there wasn't any sizes left. Typical. Fast forward a couple months later and I spotted it at the Michael Kors outlet in Niagara Falls and knew this was my chance! It's such a unique piece and I know I'll be wearing it 24/7 once the weather gets cooler.

Other than the trench coat, I'm obsessed with slip on sneakers and bought these ones from Target for only $25! I'm loving the mix of comfy and glam with the rhinestones. I've been wearing them almost everyday for school and getting so many compliments on them. As for school, it's been a bit overwhelming especially with my speech communication classes. I took a public speaking class last semester and thought it was all over but nope I got another class to take. I swear it never gets easier to speak in front of large groups! :( If you have any tips please let me know.

Lately On Instagram... | 1 comment:

Hey ladies! I apologize for being MIA lately on the blog. I've actually been waiting for my new blog design to be finished so I can begin posting again but it seems that it's taking a bit longer than I expected. But so far, I'm pleased with it! It's so much more clean, organized, and elegant than before. I can't wait to show you the end results! In the meantime, I've been posting on Instagram and thought I should share with you some of my pictures. Usually on Insta I'm posting quick shots of outfits that I'm wearing that haven't been in a outfit post yet, flat-lays, and new purchases. Feel free to follow me @ruyakiraccc and also I just got a new Twitter account since my old one got hacked so follow me @Ruya_Kirac and help a blogger out :)

Fell in love with the dreamy Lauren Conrad Runway Collection that was shown at NYFW. Such a beautiful collection filled with lace, florals, and tulle! Sadly this shirt isn't available online (check stores!) but I did link some similar ones.

I usually don't head to Anthropologie much since I can't really afford anything in there (at least not full price haha) but I fell in love with these fringe heels that's also super comfortable! Defiantly on my wishlist.

Loving this laser-cut shirt that I found at J. Crew Factory. Such a great piece to wear from school to work and also comes in coral red!

My new favorite plaid shirt and wool hat for the fall. Can't wear to start shooting fall outfit posts if only the leaves would change colors already!

Found this canvas Kate Spade tote that's perfect for school at the new Nordstrom Rack in Buffalo, NY. So lightweight and fits everything!

I practically lived in this floral H&M dress all summer long and now that fall is almost here I'm planning on wearing it with a leather jacket and some ankle boots. I'm 90% sure this is still in stores but I did link some similar ones.

Slip on sneakers are my newest obsession and these ones from Target were calling my name! Comfortable and glam. What I love about them is that the grey rhinestones don't stand out too much but still are eye-catching.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Kerastase Resistance Therapiste Voxbox | No comments:

It's that time again...I got another voxbox from Influenster! Honestly, I wasn't expecting to get another one so soon since I just got the YSL voxbox but I'm not complaining. This time around I got the Kerastase voxbox which is a brand that I always wanted to try and it was perfect timing since I was running out of shampoo (does anyone ever run out of conditioner first? haha). The voxbox contains the full-size Kerastase Resistance Therapiste Reverse Care Conditioner and the Renewal Shampoo. These two products from the Resistance Therapiste collection is designed to specifically treat damaged, over-processed hair which is exactly what the doctor ordered. Over the summer, I haven't been using heat a lot on my hair and have been going natural but ever since school started, I've been straightening my hair almost everyday! Not a good habit. Now let's the start the review...

The first step is to use the Reverse Care Conditioner first which is totally odd in my opinion but it also makes sense! Shampoo actually strips away hair oils and although it leaves your hair squeaky clean, it also can be damaging if you're washing your hair oils away everyday. Personally I only shampoo my hair 2-3 times a week and use dry shampoo to get me through. By using the Reverse Care Conditioner on your lengths and ends (while wet), it creates a protective shield from the shampoo. I left it in my hair for 1-2 minutes and rinsed it out and my hair was soft, smooth, and wasn't weighed down by the product.

The second step is to use the Renewal Shampoo which claims to coat the fiber in order to reduce friction and bring damaged hair back to life. The first thing that I've noticed about these products is that I don't lose as much hair in the shower as I normally would and my hair felt moisturized after I washed out the shampoo. It also didn't leave my scalp greasy yet just had a moisturized, clean feeling that left my hair smelling amazing! I would buy these products alone just for the great smell!

Once my hair dried, I noticed there was less frizz, more shine, and it didn't look as dry and over processed as it used to. I'm sure it's going to take more than a week to see dramatic results, but it's nice to slowly see some change happening! I can't wait to see what my hair is going to look after a couple more weeks.

If you love beauty products as much I do and want to get a voxbox then join Influenster and connect your Facebook account!

(Received these products complimentary by Influenster for testing purpose. As always all opinions are my own.)

College Girl Essential: Cute Tumblers | 1 comment:

Yesterday was the first day back at college and of course I'm all prepared the night before yet forget one simple thing in the morning. My tumbler! I always carry one with me whenever I go to school or work and fill it up with coffee or other drinks in order to quench my thirst. Of course I ended up feeling like death the whole day because I was so dehydrated but I learned my lesson. Now, if I only I could choose which tumbler to buy next! The "But First Coffee" seems so eye-catching and a perfect conversation-starter especially in these new classes that I'm taking where I don't know most of my classmates. Everyone loves coffee so I'm sure it would be a big hit! But then again the Lilly Pulitzer and Kate Spade ones are classics and perfect for a girly-girl like me. Decisions, decisions.

Which ones your favorite? What are some other college essentials that you love?

White Midi Skirt | 2 comments:

Top: Charlotte Ronson via JCPenny, old (similar) (similar) // Skirt: H&M, check stores (similar) (similar) // Shoes: Kenneth Cole Reaction, on sale! // Clutch: Marley Lilly, now $30! c/o // Sunglasses: American Eagle, sold out (similar) (similar) // Watch: Michael Kors // Leopard bracelet: J. Crew Factory, check in stores (similar) // Gold bracelet: J. Crew Factory, check in stores (similar)

Labor day aka the last day you can officially wear white or so they say. Personally I've never believed in that rule especially because I'm a big fan of the color white. Fashion has no rules so wear what you want! I wore this look a couple weeks ago but kept forgetting to post it and coincidentally I end up posting it on Labor Day haha. I bought this white H&M skirt on sale for $30 in July and originally wanted to wear it for Her Conference. Then at the last minute I changed my mind once I found this grid dress. Depending on the style of the midi skirt, a lot of them can end up looking too fancy but this one you can wear for a lot of different occasions. It's so much more gorgeous in real life and it actually has a floral detail on it that's subtle but still gives it a little something. Oh and did I mention it has pockets? It's perfect paired with a simple black scuba crop top and these heels which are probably the most comfortable heels I own!

Aside from the outfit, I hope you have all have a lovely Labor Day! Today I'm actually out in Buffalo (a city an hour away from Rochester) to go check out the first Nordstrom Rack in upstate NY! Isn't that crazy? We're so behind on everything! At least now I won't have to shop online on Nordstrom as much. I'm hoping to find a tote and some new outfits for school which starts tomorrow. I can feel my last hours of freedom slowly going away :(

Fallin' In Love With Fall Lipsticks | No comments:

Is it just me or has this year gone by ridiculously fast?! I mean it's already September which means fall is right around the corner. Even though the temperatures are still warm that doesn't mean that you can't add a little fall into your makeup with these gorgeous lip colors. Lipstick is a great way to experiment with different looks and the best part is that your hair doesn't stick to your lips when a gust of wind blows haha. I mostly went with a theme of maroon, brown nudes, berry, and rose pinks. I can't wait to add a couple of these to my lipstick collection! I already linked these lipsticks at the bottom of the post so feel free to check them out.

Here's one of my new favorites in person which I listed: Nars "Cruella". Think of it as a sophisticated, fall version of a classic matte red lip.
