Floral Shorts

Top: Ralph Lauren // Shorts: J. Crew Factory, check in stores (similar) // Shoes: Michael Kors, sold out (similar) (similar) // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff // Sunglasses: Target // Watch: Target // Bracelets: Michael Kors, Marley Lilly

Happy Monday everyone! Sundays and Mondays are my days off from my part time job at a local boutique so it's nice to be able to relax and not have to work. To say that I'm exhausted from last week is an understatement. From working a bunch of extra hours everyday to even handling a fashion show on my own (not as glam as you may think it is!), I forgot what it's like to actually do nothing haha. I'm not gonna lie though, it's gonna be nice getting a big check on payday. I'm one of those people that loves being independent and being able to buy things with my own money. Sure, it gets hard especially as a college kid but I'd rather struggle than have someone say "you wouldn't have that if it wasn't for me" ya know?

On my day off, I decided to pair these ridiculously comfy J. Crew shorts (that has an elastic waist that's perfect if you're bloated after a big meal like me haha) with my favorite white button down. Every girl needs a good white button down in her closet that can be worn for internships, work, or even for casual outfits like this. This Ralph Lauren one is my favorite since it's anti-wrinkle yet is surprisingly soft and not stiff at all like other shirts. As for the shorts, they were 40% off at J. Crew Factory and you could use your student discount towards them for another 15% off. They're available in so many cool patterns and colors and I can't wait to grab some more before they're sold out!

Thanks for reading, what's your go-to outfit for days off?

Stylish School Supplies That Every Fashionista Will Love

Back to school season will always have a special place in my heart ♥ From new clothes to new planners, this time of year always gets me excited! Yet there is always that one part that I hated: shopping for school supplies. Personally, I love school supplies with fun patterns and colors that keeps me inspired and actually motivates me to stay organized by using them. But they're all so expensive and the affordable ones are just so plain and totally not something that a fashionista like me would want to carry around the whole day! What's a girl to do?!

That's where Office Depot and OfficeMax comes in. I recently got the opportunity to try out their trendy new line of school supplies by brands such as Divoga that's both chic and affordable. I was in desperate need of some new notebooks and pens for the upcoming semester but Office Depot also has tons of tech stuff for all your electronic needs and even backpacks! When I found these colorful notebooks and fun pens in store I just had to have them. I grabbed this flashy polka dot notebook along with 2 other preppy patterned notebooks that you can personalize since it comes with stickers! I decided to go with a simple R but you can totally monogram it and make it look even more preppy.

Of course I couldn't help but pick up a couple folders as well in pretty colors such as lilac and aqua that perfectly matches my new notebooks. My favorite thing that I bought was these awesome pens from Divoga that writes so smoothly and doesn't smear on my hand like other pens do since I'm left-handed! They also have a nice grip on the lower half of the pen so your fingers won't hurt after writing for so long. I don't know about you, but I'm always taking notes old-school style so I need a pen that won't leave my hand in pain after a long lecture.

For more amazing school supplies, head over to your local Office Depot and OfficeMax and gear up for college!

Current Obsession: Off the Shoulder Tops

Have you ever heard someone say that their shoulders are fat? Neither have I. That's what I love about off the shoulder tops. They're so flattering on everyone and gives a plain top a unique twist. It's also a great transition piece into the fall so take advantage of the end of summer sales and grab a couple! I've been on the hunt for a new one since I've been wearing this cropped navy blue one all summer long. I'm looking for one that's flowy and could easily be taken from class to going out with friends (or ya know date night, if I had a date *sighs*). Also, if you're like me and prefer keeping it classy and not showing a lot of skin then this is a great way to be sexy without revealing everything!

What do you think of off the shoulder tops? Do or don't?

Blush Pink + Maroon

Romper: Forever 21 // Watch: c/o Jord // Shoes: Tahari (similar) (similar) // Bag: Michael Kors // Ring: J. Crew (similar) // Lips: Nars "Rikugien" Lip Pencil // Face: Nars "Laguna" Bronzing Powder

Happy Monday everyone! Last week, this amazing romper arrived in the mail and I couldn't help but fall in love with it. It looks so much better than the pictures and it's available in black! This is probably one of the most unique rompers that I own since I never see too many rompers with sheer/lace sleeves like this. It can be dressed both up and down depending on the occasion. I decided to dress it up with these t-strap heels and my trusty crossbody that perfectly matches it. It's such a delicate and feminine look that's perfect for any girly-girl out there.

As for the accessories, I decided to add a pop of color with my new maroon wood watch from Jord. I've never actually heard of wood watches before discovering this brand and now I want one in every color! Of course I would go for the maroon one since it's my favorite color and it's defiantly one of the most eye-catching ones from their Cora collection. Although to me it looks like maroon, it's actually made out of a wood called purpleheart and seems to change colors depending on the lighting. It has swarovski crystal markers to give it a bit of a luxurious feel without going over the top as well as a cut-out (both on the front and the back!) to see the beauty of the inside of watch working away. I'm a huge fan of watches and their craftsmanship and you don't need to be an expert in order to appreciate the hard work that's been put into this watch. It looks so much more expensive than it actually is! I'm keeping my eye on the Maple & Lavender one and the Zebrawood & Turquoise one for future purchases ;)

Burt's Bees Skincare

#ANaturalClean #CollectiveBias

When it comes to skincare, I'm all about natural products that aren't harsh on my skin and doesn't contain any strange chemicals. The brand that I always trust with my skin is Burt's Bees which has products that are on average 99% natural, Dermatologist-tested, and made with ingredients such as Coconut and Argan oils.

The first step in my skincare routine is to use the new Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil as a makeup remover which gently removes everything off my face without leaving an oily residue behind (my biggest pet peeve!). I'll start with a dry face and simply pour some of the oil onto my dry hands, massage it into my skin, and then rinse it off with water. The best part is that it doesn't clog pores and it doesn't feel like you just used an oil on your face. It just leaves your skin soft, smooth, and clean. Since I have dry skin, I always have to moisturize a lot but hate the greasy feeling that a lot of other products leave. With the Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil, I don't have to worry about any of that. It's simple, easy to use, and I don't have to buy products like cotton pads or wipes in order to remove my makeup. Since I'm on a college budget I like to save money on beauty products and buying extras like cotton pads every couple of weeks can get expensive!

Afterwards, since the Cleansing Oil is meant to be used with another Burt's Bees product and can't be used alone, my second step is to use the Burt's Bees Brightening Refining Tonic. I usually use this on days where my skin looks dull and I need it to look refreshed for work or simply want my skin to look more even. This is going to come in handy once the new semester starts since I have to wake up early for morning classes and need my skin to look awake. You can either apply it with your fingers, a paper towel, or a cotton ball and apply it all over your face and avoid the eye areas.

Here's my skin after using these two products. Cleaner, brighter, and confident enough to go all natural!

You can find these two products at your local Target, where they have their own section in the beauty aisle.

Have you tried the new Burt's Bees Cleansing Oil or any of the other skincare products? What do you think of all natural products? Let me know in the comments below!

Stylish Planners For Every Budget

I'm not gonna lie, I'm ridiculously organized when it comes to school #nerdmuch. I've noticed that I can no longer store things in my memory and hope to retrieve it at any time when I have a million things going on in my life at once. It seems to be getting worse with age and I'm sure it's the same for you! That's why I love planners so much and I find that getting one with some fancy writing or designs inspires me to take it out of my bag and use it more often rather than just storing everything on my phone. Plus seeing everything from a monthly perspective helps to establish goals and see where I'm making progress. The only problem is planners can get a bit expensive! That's why I decided to include planners for all sorts of budgets in this post, from pocket planners (that Plan Big one is amazing for $12!) to thicker ones with gorgeous designs that look like artwork on the cover (Rifle & Co, I'm totally eyeing you!). Sure, it might just be some colorful paper and calendars stored inside, but it could totally save your life when it comes to remembering last minute assignments! Plus it goes with your outfit, just saying.

Which one's your favorite? Any kind of planners that you prefer over others? Love to hear your thoughts!

Blue Scallop Dress

Dress: Marshalls, check in stores (similar in blue) (similar in black) // Belt: Ann Taylor // Shoes: Express, sold out (similar 1) (similar 2) // Sunglasses: Ray-Ban // Bag: Vince Camuto, sold out (similar)

I shot this outfit way back in May yet I forgot to post it until now haha. Well if it helps I've been practically wearing this dress non-stop this entire summer! I found it randomly at Marshalls (if you live in Rochester, visit the one in Pittsford. I always find the best stuff there!) and instantly fell in love with the scallop edges. I'm normally not a big fan of shift dresses and prefer skater style dresses since I'm curvy so I decided to belt it to create the illusion of a waist. It's actually a great way to make yourself look slimmer too! You might've noticed I also wore this dress in Paris haha. Like I said it's my favorite and it's really hard to find that one dress that fits you perfectly so defiantly grab this one before it sells out.

P.S. for all my Rochester readers, I'll be at the A-List Pool Party this Thursday working at the Ruffles boutique booth so if you're there defiantly stop by and say hi!

What to Wear: First Day of College

The first day of anything always seems to be the most important but when it comes to the first day of college, it's always important to dress to impress. I've seen even the laziest of students look nice on the first day! By looking polished and put together, it gives you a little less anxiety and helps you to prepare to take on the semester. Or if you're like me, it just gives you an excuse to dress nice! Here are some of my favorite outfits that will hopefully help you decide on what to wear for the first day and get inspired.

Is it that obvious that this outfit is totally my style? We all know how much I love matching separates (last seen in this post) and the scallops just give it an extra preppy touch while the bag and watch gives it some fun and color to an otherwise classic outfit. And how adorable is that iPhone case?!

Sometimes simplicity speaks volumes. For the girls who love a good neutral palette and who's go-to outfit is all black then this look might work for you. My favorite thing about this style is the minimalist jewelry such as these gorgeous midi rings and bar necklace. So simple yet so chic!

I always admire the style of art students because they're always so daring and eccentric when it comes to fashion. These shorts reminded me of a watercolor painting while the stripes add some nice contrast along with the bright yellow backpack that gives it a bit of pop.

The Perfect Tan With St. Tropez

Back in my freshman year of high school, I remember reading an article about skin cancer in Teen Vogue and that's when I decided that it was time to protect my skin. While girls were off using the tanning beds every weekend, I was using sunscreen religiously. It seems to have paid off since I'm now 21 and still look like I'm 14! In order to combat pale skin while still protecting my skin, I discovered the wonderful world of self-tanner back then and still think it's the best to this day!

Now that I'm older and able to splurge once in a while on beauty products, I decided to give the holy grail of self-tanners a try: St. Tropez. I always hear about it everywhere from magazines to celebrities, it's considered to be one of the best self-tanners on the market. It comes in a variety of different formulas and sizes but I decided to give the 4oz. bronzing mousse a try which retails at Sephora for $32. St. Tropez claims that the mousse gives you a streak-free tan that dries in 60 seconds and is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

First I began by exfoliating my skin and then moisturizing with a body lotion. I recommend putting extra lotion on your knees, elbows, neck, and the back of your ankles since these are the areas that self-tanner seems to not blend easily into the skin. Then, I put on my applicator mitt (you can find these at Ulta and Sephora for cheap!) and began applying the self-tanner in a circular motion. The mousse is tinted a deep bronze color so you can see where you applied it. I have to say the smell is much better than most self-tanners I tried, it's light and doesn't give you a headache from the artificial smell. This was my first time using mousse self-tanner and it's far better than using lotion since all you have to do is use the pump. The mousse soaks into your skin in seconds and doesn't feel greasy. Once I applied it all over my body, I waited 15-20 mins before putting on my clothes. The directions on the bottle says to wait 6-8 hours before getting your skin wet so I recommend using this at night before you go to bed.

I noticed that this isn't an instant self-tanner but a gradual one that develops it's full color in about 5-6 hours. In 2-3 hours, I began to notice that I had no streaks on my skin and that my tan was a beautiful, natural bronze color instead of the ugly orange that we all dread. After 6 hours, I was obsessed with the color and when I met up with some friends they all thought it was an actual tan! I decided to go darker so I applied it a second time the next day and the tan lasted for 5 days without getting patchy. Although it's pricey, for amazing results like this I say it's worth it! It lasts much longer than drugstore self-tanners and looks far more natural. Who says you have to go on vacation to get a great tan?

Here's a picture of the results, to see more pics of this tan check out my Lilly Pulitzer outfit post!

Polka Dots and Mesh

Top: Forever 21 // Skirt: Topshop (similar) // Sunglasses: Coach (similar) // Bag: Michael Kors // Shoes: Sam Edelman, sold out (espadrilles) (flats) // Lipstick: Clinique Chubby Stick in "Mightiest Maraschino" // Belt bracelet: Michael Kors // Watch: Michael Kors // Ring: J. Crew, old

Sometimes I think that the outfits that we pull together at the last minute turn out to be the best ones. Or at least that's the case with this outfit. I'm shocked by the fact that I was able to pull this together when I was rushing to work (what else is new) last week. Polka dots and mesh aren't a combination that you typically hear about, but it seems to work together quite well. I'm still a beginner when it comes to mixing patterns and materials but I've realized one of the easiest ways to do it is to find pieces that are the same color and it suddenly makes the outfit look like it naturally goes together. In this outfit, the white polka dots and the white mesh matches while the blue in the shirt is subtle so I can still add a pop of color with my lipstick and shoes. Funny, when I actually take my time thinking of what to wear in the mornings I never come up with combos like this!

This is probably my favorite outfit I've worn this summer and although I'm seeing a lot of fashion bloggers trying to fast forward into fall outfits, I'm still sticking with summer ones at least until the weather gets cooler! I'm going to pretend that winter isn't quickly approaching for as long as I can haha.
