Hey ladies! I hope you're having a great week so far! My week has been off to a great start with this new shirt that I got in the mail. It totally reminds me of spring and is perfect for Easter that's coming up. The best part? It's only $18 so get it before it's sold out! I suggest sizing up since I normally wear a small in shirts but the medium fits perfectly on me.

The real highlight of this outfit is this gorgeous ring that I got in my first box from Rocksbox! Here's a post that I wrote earlier this week about it. Feel free to use the code sweetshortandstylishxoxo to get a free box for the first month! As you can see in the photo, I'm wearing the Margaret Elizabeth "Ophelia" cocktail ring in Aqua. Such a gorgeous piece that's totally my style and it's $148! There's no way I could afford that on a college budget but luckily I get to wear it for the month before I have to send it back :)

I'll be making a post about my first Rocksbox so stay tuned! Hope you enjoyed this post,

YWCP Fashion Show

Hi ladies! In case you've been wondering why I've been MIA this past week, it's because I was super busy at work preparing for a fashion show! Back in March, I got an amazing job at Ruffles boutique which is a gorgeous shop in Rochester, NY that carries classy, preppy, and sophisticated clothes for all occasions. It's pretty much the perfect place for a fashion-lover to shop! Trust me, I have to fight off the urge to buy something every time I work haha.

There's something incredibly rewarding about working for small businesses. You can see how much time, effort, and dedication is put into every detail and I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of such a wonderful boutique and fashion show. How lucky am I?!

Anyways! Let's get to the fun stuff: The YWCP fashion show took place at the Century Club which is this historical house in the city. All proceeds from the show went to the Young Women's College Prep charter school. Charity + fashion is always a winner in my book.

Apologies in advance for the iPhone photos! I knew I would have a hard time carrying my Canon
everywhere so I left it at home. Oh how I wish THIS was my home though ;)

And here's our table and rack filled with amazing clothes and accessories that are for sale so customers can easily purchase items they've seen on the runway.

Yes Ruffles carries Vineyard Vines clothes!

My job was to help pick outfits for the models and prepare them for the show. I loved working behind the scenes and hopefully I'll be able to do this some more in the future! How amazing do the models look? Here are some of my favorite looks!

It was defiantly a fun night and I'm so grateful to be a part of it! In case you live in Rochester and feel like checking out the store it's located on 1464 Monroe Ave. For everyone who's not local feel free to check out our online shop at Shoptiques

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Rocksbox Subscription Box + Code

Hi ladies! I wanted to make a quick post about Rocksbox jewelry which I recently just heard about! It's a service where you get to take a quiz based on your style and then experts choose three pieces of designer jewelry (like House of Harlow and Loren Hope!) according to the results from the quiz. Then they send it to you in the mail and you get to wear them for a month before having to return to them in exchange for another 3 pieces! It's such a genius idea for people like me who get sick of wearing the same old jewelry again and again. The service is just $19 a month and you can sign up at and it includes free shipping both ways!

As a special bonus to my readers, I teamed up with Rocksbox to give you ladies the first month free with the code sweetshortandstylishxoxo

I already have a box in the mail as we speak and I can't wait to review their jewelry in an upcoming post so stay tuned!

Until next time lovelies,

Pura D'Or Organic Shampoo and Argan Oil

It's been a while since I've switched up my hair care routine so I jumped at the opportunity to try out some Pura D'Or products. I decided to try their hair loss prevention shampoo and argan oil for face, body, and hair since my hair and skin has been feeling horrible from the bipolar weather we've been having lately. Plus both products are organic and cruelty-free so why not try something that's going to be better than what I'm buying at the drugstore?

First up is the hair loss prevention shampoo which contains argan oil in it and has a pump which makes it so much easier to use in the shower. Pura D'Or claims that the shampoo will prevent hair loss, strengthen damaged hair, has 12 DHT blockers, and is paraben, SLS, and gluten free! Whoa, tons of benefits!

The first thing I noticed is that it has a very natural, clean smell almost like freshly cut grass! It was a refreshing surprise compared to the fruity or chemical smells that I always expect from shampoos. Once washed and dried, I noticed from the first time that I used it that it didn't dry out my hair like most shampoos do. Must be the argan oil! My hair looked healthy and seemed to have even had a bit of volume in it to give off a fuller effect. I was also surprised to notice that I didn't lose as much hair in the shower as I normally do! No matter how many shampoos I've tried in the past couple years, that never happens!

After I blow-dryed my hair straight, I decided to use the argan oil on the ends of my hair to give it a bit of shine. The argan oil also has a pump on it which I love and it didn't feel greasy on my hands or hair. Mind you, always use a small amount of oil because this stuff is pretty strong! Then I used some argan oil on my face as a moisturizer (which didn't make me break out!) and on dry patches of skin and it completely absorbed in seconds, leaving no residue.

Overall, so far I'm impressed with these products and I'm defiantly going to be using it regularly in order to see a difference in my hair and skin!

Garnier Color Styler + Game Day Look

Blazer: Lulu's (similar) // Shirt: Express (similar) // Jeans: Guess (similar) // Shoes: Steve Madden (similar) // Bag: Alberta Di Canio (similar) (similar 2) // Hair: Garnier Color Styler in Purple Mania, Pink Pop, and Blue Burst

In college, there's many occasions to show school spirit and with March Madness happening I thought it would be fun to show you one of my game day inspired looks. Mind you, I'm not that into athletic wear so I thought I show you ladies a much more fashionable version to wear to the office, work, and school if you feel like showing school spirit while being a little more dressed up. This outfit took little time to pull together with my school colors being maroon, grey, and white. You can totally recreate this look with your school colors easily!

Of course the highlight of this look is my colorful hair! What's game day without some crazy colored hair to show off how much of a true fan you are? I used Garnier's Color Styler which comes in a variety of different colors and is washable! I decided to not dye my hair my school colors and instead go all out and use pink, purple, and blue just on the tips. Although I'm no stranger to dying my hair, this was my first time dying my hair crazy colors and I can honestly say I love the result! I wish I can have my hair like this everyday yet sadly I have to wash it off for work. Oh well, at least dying my hair these colors was super easy!

Here's the process:

1.) Start with dry hair (yes you heard right!) and with gloves on, pour some hair dye onto your hands.

2.) With your fingers, start by applying a light coat on the tips of your hair and wait for it to dry.

3.) If you want to have the color really bold and bright, put a second coat on and let it dry again.

4.) Once your hair is completely dry, brush it.

5.) Voila you're done!

I was shocked at how easy it was to dye my own hair and how pretty it came out. I used the colors Purple Mania, Pink Pop, and Blue Burst although sadly the purple didn't show up too much since the bottom portion of my hair is so dark. I only did one coat of each of the colors cause I wanted something more subtle so that might be why. I'm sure it would show up much easier on someone with a lighter hair color. The blue on the other hand looks more like a teal which I love so it varies between hair colors. The best part is that if you mess up you can easily wash it out!

To help you create your own game day look, I included a coupon at to purchase the Garnier Color Styler at a discount! Make sure to show me your looks on social media by tagging @GarnierUSA, @HerCampus, and #colorstyler.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Trench Coat Fever

There's just something so beautiful about a good old trench coat. It's just so classic and iconic yet can take your look from boring to chic in seconds. I wish I could wear one of these gorgeous coats yet sadly the weather is still too chilly for it. I decided to pick a couple affordable ones that the average college girl can buy and a couple expensive ones that I can only wear in my dreams *sighs*. Let's take a look at some of my favorites...

 Betsey Johnson

I love anything retro and this trench coat defiantly reminds me of something Bridget Bardot would wear. Plus how cute is that back?! It's on sale now so make sure to grab it before it's gone!

What's a trench coat post without Burberry? This color gives their classic trench coat a twist and it's perfect for the if only I had a bunch of money to spend on shopping haha.

For a classic trench coat look no further than this one from BCBGeneration. Although it's still a bit pricey at $158, it's a coat that's defiantly worth the investment since it'll last a long time and is wearable regardless of the season.

Vince Camuto

Long trench coats are so trendy right now and I wish I could wear them without looking shorter than I am (fun fact: I'm 5'1...and a half!). For my tall girls, defiantly try this one!

Calvin Klein

For all the Pretty Little Liars fans this ones for you! This totally reminds me of A and I'm not gonna lie, I would feel like a badass if I was wearing this haha. It's defiantly a statement coat and amazing dressed both up and down.

If you're looking for another reason to wear a trench coat, just take a look at little miss Audrey Hepburn rocking hers back in the day. Funny how some trends never go away...

Thanks for reading!

Sweater: J. Crew // Jeans: Hollister // Shoes: Steve Madden // Bag: Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac // Sunglasses: Express // Bracelets: J. Crew (old), Things Remembered

It's been a long time since I've been excited about an outfit and I'm so glad it's spring so I can share this one with you! Right when I saw this J. Crew sweater in stores, I knew I had to add it to my spring wardrobe. The mint and bright orange is just so refreshing to look at after a long couple of months wearing dark colors. I love how eye-catching the sequins are yet it's still casual enough to wear everyday. I swear, J. Crew makes art, not clothing. I could just go on and on about this sweater but I'm not going to haha.

I'm also wearing my Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac for the first time and these brand new nude heels from Steve Madden that goes perfectly with everything. I'm not sure why but I've been loving heels lately and will be talking about it some more in an upcoming post!

A special thank you to Holly from The Blonde Chiffon for taking these photos! I was lucky enough to meet her through the Her Campus network and to our surprise, we're both living in Rochester so we decided to meet up and have been friends ever since. It's amazing how quickly bloggers can become friends, I always say that we need our own country haha. Everyone go check out her blog if you love fashion, food recipes, and everything in between!
