Current Obsession: Knotty Hair Ties

If you've ever looked at my outfit posts, you would notice that I'm one of those people who always has a hair tie on their wrist...ya know, just in case. A black plain hair tie? Probably not the most cutest of wrist accessories! Luckily, I heard about the company Knotty which seems to have read my mind with these pretty chair hair ties that look great both on your wrist and in your hair!

They come in a variety of different colors, patterns, and styles so there's defiantly something for everyone. As you can see from my Instagram picture, I decided to wear their aqua chain hair tie in silver with my Tiffany & Co jewelry and it matches perfectly! Hair ties aren't the only things that Knotty is known for, they also have an amazing collection of chain headbands and jewelry. It's safe to say that they're my newest obsession and I can't wait to order more products<3

Have you heard about Knotty?

21st Birthday

Top: Forever 21 (similar) // Skirt: Sam Edelman (on sale!) // Shoes: Nine West (similar) // Clutch: TJ Maxx (similar)

I can't even explain how strange it feels to finally be 21! I mean I've been looking forward to this for a while now but at the same time I feel so old haha. Honestly, I'm not a big "birthday" person but I gotta admit, there's something magical about turning 21. So how am I celebrating the big day? With school and work of course, perks of being an adult! :P Of course there's tons of celebrating to be done this weekend so it's not all bad.

Here's the outfit that I'm planning on wearing to dinner tonight and I wanted to go with something more elegant. This is actually my first time wearing a midi skirt even though I've been dying to get one forever! I just couldn't seem to find the perfect one until now. Check out the details on the skirt, who knew mesh could look so classy? Also the elastic waistband totally ties in with the athletic trend that we've been seeing a lot on the runway.

Hope you enjoyed this look and thank you for reading!

21 Things I Learned By 21

It hasn't even hit me yet that I'm turning 21 tomorrow (yikes, I'm old haha) but I thought I'd make a little post about all the important lessons I've learned these past couple years. All I'm gonna say is..it's been a lonngggg journey but I'm glad I finally got to a place in my life where I'm truly happy. Everything may not be perfect (and this is coming from a perfectionist!) but I'm happy with how things are and that's enough for me. Here are 21 things I know to be true so far!

Let's begin!

1.) The #1 rule to life is to do what you love, and lots of it. It changes everything. Trust me on this one.

2.) You're going to see some things in life that you're not going to like. Move forward from it and don't let it destroy you, no matter how painful it is.

3.) There is no such thing as loneliness, learn to be your own best friend.

4.) One day you're going to look up from your phone and your parents aren't going to be there anymore, cherish every single moment you have with them.

5.) Start saving money NOW. Your future self is going to thank you.

6.) Coffee. Coffee. Coffee. Enough said.

7.) Some people will never like you. But there's tons of people that will, go find them.

8.) Stay calm and don't raise your voice in an argument. They never expect that.

9.) Life isn't short. Life can be very long if you're living each moment to the fullest.

10.) Celebrate every success, no matter how small.

11.) Intuition is your biggest advantage. If you know something is for you then go out and chase it, even if it goes against logic.

12.) If you change your perspective, things aren't as bad as you think.

13.) Happiness can be bought, but it doesn't last very long.

14.) Ignoring your passions and talents will make you miserable.

15.) Your life will get ridiculously boring if you never take any risks.

16.) There's no "perfect" time to travel. Just do it right now.

17.) Have at least one day a week where you can just sit around and be lazy.

18.) Opportunity is everywhere and can come from the least expected places.

19.)  Cars, clothes, and big houses are not an accurate representation of wealth. It's called being in debt.

20.) College may open doors but it's up to the individual's character to keep them open.

21.) Unhappiness doesn't last forever. Your bad luck is bound to change at some point and it will. Don't lose hope.

Oscars 2015 Favorites

Ahh, the Oscars aka the biggest awards show with the most glamorous of outfits. If only I could attend! At least social media has given us the power to feel like we're practically there...but not quite haha. Here are my best dressed picks for the night. Honestly, only a couple people impressed me, it just seems like there was something missing this past awards season. Maybe it's the absence of so many iconic actresses like Angelina Jolie? Mmm I don't know...anyways on to the pictures!

Jennifer Lopez
Without a doubt, Jlo was the best dressed of the night. This is what I expect a Hollywood start to look like!

Chrissy Teigan

Once again, Chrissy impressed me at an awards show. The pastel blue looks gorgeous against her skin tone and her makeup is flawless.

Emma Stone

No matter what Emma wears, I still love her. I'm not the biggest fan of green but it looks breathtaking with her red hair and the color made her stand out.

Chloe Grace Moretz

A dress with pockets is always a good choice in my book! I love the fact that she always wears age-appropriate outfits and looks classy. I could totally see myself wearing something like this. Oh and let's take a second to appreciate the gorgeous ear cuff which was a nice contrast against the floral dress.

Giuliana Rancic

Defiantly my favorite of the night, Giuliana always looks amazing at awards shows. I love how she went with something bolder and the short wavy hair defiantly suites her.

What did you think of the Oscars red carpet?

Style Queen: Miroslava Duma

If someone asked me the question "Who is your favorite fashionista?" it would be without a doubt, Miroslava Duma. As Anna Wintor would say "You either know fashion or you don't" and Miroslava defiantly knows. That's why every time I look for inspiration, she's the first one I turn to. Here are some past looks of hers that I'm loving for spring and wish I could afford to wear! Hopefully I'll be able to recreate some looks with some cheaper pieces for the upcoming season.

Trench Coats:

Co-Ords:

Midi Skirt:

Spring Coats:

Gorgeous looks am I right? What I love about Miroslava is that she's a true fashion cameleon. Her style is all over the place and she's willing to try anything at least once. That's what I call a style queen!

The Perfect Spring Bags

Hey ladies! Sorry for the lack of posts, I started a new job and I needed some time to focus and get into the hang of things. Now that my first week there is over, I finally have some time to relax and do my favorite thing ever...blog! haha. I swear I go crazy when I don't have time to blog, it's just all that creative energy is locked up inside and doesn't make it's way out when I'm in a mundane routine.

Anyways enough of that, after countless days of terrible snow it's safe to say that I got spring fever! Oh and I also need a new bag. Like desperately. So why not combine the two together? I'm dreaming of pastels, florals, and small bags that are easy to carry. Of course I'll have to splurge on one of these once I get my first check. I can't wait!

What are you loving lately for spring?

Merci

Jacket: Zara (similar) // Top: JCPenny (similar) // Skirt: Forever 21 // Boots: Aldo (similar) // Bag: Marley Lilly c/o

Spring fever is defiantly in the air but unfortunately the weather doesn't seem to agree. I'm sad to say that it looks like I'll be taking pictures indoors for a while. Oh well, at least I got decent lighting this time right? Seriously I didn't even need to edit these photos because they're already so bright! This is what one of the things I love about fashion blogging, discovering new ways to be creative!

As for the outfit, in case you missed out on the infamous baby blue Zara jacket that I'm wearing, I linked one from Forever 21 that's the exact same dupe! You can't even tell the difference. I paired it with the scuba skirt that's from Forever 21 that you've probably seen on my blog a million times already. It just seems to go with everything! Oh and did I mention this Merci shirt thatI bought cause it reminded me of my upcoming London/Paris trip? Adorable. I just wish I can wear this outfit without a million layers and a heavy coat on top! :(

Until next time lovelies,

Why I Don't Mind Being Single On V-Day

"Figure out who you are separate from your family and the man or woman you're in a relationship with. Find who you are in this world and what you need to feel good alone. I think that's the most important thing in life. Find a sense of self because with that, you can do anything else." -Angelina Jolie

I've always loved Valentine's Day (um, hello it's in the same month as my birthday!) and never really understood the hatred that single people have for this holiday. Sure, it must be nice to be in a relationship this time of year but Valentine's Day is just like all commercial holidays...it's about the material things.

If you really love someone then everyday would be Valentine's Day and you wouldn't need one single day of the year to show how much you love each other. But hey that's just my opinion.

Moving on, society seems to really push the idea of Valentine's Day being a holiday about people celebrating their relationships. What they forgot is that the holiday celebrates all types of relationships. From the love that you have for your parents, to your grandparents, and your best friends, you're surrounded by love everywhere! Apparently that's not enough because unless you have a bf/gf then you're not considered worthy by society.

Another type of relationship that's rarely talked about is the love that you have for yourself. Many of us haven't figured out how to love ourselves because we're too busy chasing people that will do it for us. This just never ends well.

This is the reason why I don't feel bad about being single. I slowly learned how to love myself and that type of love was enough for me. Some people go through their whole lives never finding it. That's what you should truly be afraid of.

I dare every one of you, single or not, to learn how to love yourselves. You may not always be in a relationship, your parents aren't here forever, and best friends aren't permanent. That's why it's so important to find your sense of self and be able to love yourself. You're all you got. Now, that's something to celebrate.

Until next time lovelies,
