Paper Crown Sale | 2 comments:

Hey guys! One of my favorite brands that's always on my wishlist every year is items from the Paper Crown line by Lauren Conrad. As you all may or may not know, I adore Lauren and I'm quite obsessed with her simple yet girly style. Although Paper Crown can be a bit of a splurge, I always like to wait until their black friday sale is happening to invest in a few gorgeous pieces. Make sure to use the code "Extra25" to get the 25% off discount! The sale is going on until Monday so there's not much time left!

My Day As a Stylist | No comments:

Hey guys! As mentioned in my Serendipity post, I got the opportunity to be a stylist for a photoshoot! I never would've thought blogging would lead to something like this but that's the beauty about life: it always manages to surprise you.

Last month at Rochester Fashion Week, I met the lovely Sarah from SJR Style Inc. After chatting for a couple weeks, she ended up asking me to be a co-stylist for a photoshoot she was coordinating. Of course I accepted yet little did I know of all the hard work stylists do! In theory it sounds easy to pick out outfits for someone else but it's so much more than that!

The first problem was that we've never seen the model in person and only had her sizes to go off of. The way clothes look can vary from person to person so Sarah and I had to make sure we had a variety of clothes to choose from. The second problem was that the whole photoshoot was going to be in black and white. Naturally when we pick out clothes, we try to come up with outfits that "go-together" color-wise, yet that means nothing when it's in black and white. Instead of focusing on color, we had to focus on textures and patterns so it can stand out in photos. The fur coat and the sequin, patterned skirt is a great example of this.

Overall, this opportunity made me appreciate all the work that goes into getting the perfect shot. I have a huge amount of respect for all the hairstylists, photographers, models, and stylists that do this everyday for a living! It's a huge amount of work filled with challenges, but when you love what you're doing then it's all worth it.

Thank you to SJR Style Inc. for giving me this opportunity! ♥ Since we're still in the process of editing, I'll be posting more photos once they're all released in the future!

Until next time lovelies,

Last Days of Fall | 4 comments:

Jacket: Ann Taylor // Shirt: Ann Taylor // Jeans: Abercrombie // Shoes: Me Too via Marshalls // Bag: Boutique in Istanbul // Hat: H&M (old) // Sunglasses: Express

I'm not sure why, but fall always seems like the shortest season! Maybe that's what makes it so special ♥ These pics were taken a couple weeks ago when the weather was perfect and I could wear this leather jacket without freezing. It's now 40% off at Ann Taylor just in case anyone feels like getting it! You don't see maroon leather jackets often that are such good quality so don't miss out!

The shirt I also got from Ann Taylor and I've probably worn it over a dozen times already. It's just so classy and can be worn from school to the workplace. I think everyone needs a shirt like this in their wardrobe! This is also on sale for 40% off along with my Abercrombie jeans, funny enough for the same discount! It's pretty much the perfect time to shop for yourself (oh and that little holiday called Christmas! haha) with all these sales going on.

New Lush Holiday Bath Bombs | No comments:

Nothing says the holidays like these new Lush holiday bath bombs! Aren't they adorable? On the left is Dashing Santa which is $5.95 and Snow Angel which is $7.95. There's tons of new holiday products at Lush so make sure to get them before they run out and are gone until next year :(

First up is Dashing Santa, which is pretty cheap compared to other bath bombs. It has a light, citrusy scent that doesn't give you a headache so it's perfect to give as a gift! Once you throw it into the tub, you'll notice that it dissolves slowly and leaves glitter wherever it is. Personally, I don't mind the glitter since it makes the water look so pretty and is easy to wash off afterwards. Overall, this is a perfect bath bomb if you feel like having a nice long soak.

On the other hand, Snow Angel is technically considered a bath melt but defiantly has the qualities of a bath bomb! It's super shimmery and turns the water into a golden color which may or may not gross you out haha. I don't know, I just think they could've picked a different color for the water to turn into! Aside from that con, it smells like cocoa butter and marzipan similar to their Snowcake soap. Lastly, since it is a bath melt it does a great job with moisturizing your dry, winter skin!

What do you think of the new Lush bath bombs? Any favorites?

River Island Sale Favorites | 1 comment:

It always seems like the best stores are the ones that we don't have in the small city that I live in...or in this country haha. River Island is defiantly one of them! If you've never heard of it, that's because it's a chain store based in the UK and sadly has no stores in the US right now. On the bright side, they've recently started offering shipping to the US so I'm extremely excited to place an order soon! If you're a fan of Topshop and Zara then you must check them out.

Oh and did I mention all of these items are up to 50% off? And they're high quality? Insane right!?

Make sure to click on the River Island link on the sidebar and get free shipping when you spend $35 or more!

Top: H&M // Jeans: Hollister // Boots: Calvin Klein (similar) // Bag: H&M // Ring: J. Crew (old) // Sunglasses: Express // Earrings: Kohl's Apt. 9

This is just one of those shirts that you can't help but wonder if you should buy or not. Is it too weird? Where am I going to wear it to? Are there too many sequins on it? I finally decided to get it and I can honestly say it's one of the most unique pieces I have in my wardrobe. The sequin design reminds me of stars for some reason. I wasn't sure if the fit would actually look good on me (it's very broad in the shoulders!) but surprising, it seems to look good. Always be willing to try new things in fashion, you never what's going to look good on you until you do!

I paired it with some jeans but of course you can dress it up for a special occasion with a skirt and some heels. As usual, I decided to go for a casual look and wore it with my knee-high boots that I'm obsessed with. They're a bit pricey, but defiantly worth the investment since they're such good quality!

What have you been obsessing over lately? Tried anything new? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time lovelies,

Marley Lilly | No comments:

Oh, Marley Lilly ♥ It was like love at first sight on Instagram! The gorgeous clutches, the dainty jewelry, oh and did I mention everything is monogrammed? Yup, that's Marley Lilly's specialty! If you're a southern belle (or just want to be one like me!) then this is your go-to place for high quality monogrammed clothing and accessories. When I got the opportunity to work with them, I jumped at the chance because hello! It's Marley Lilly! I just couldn't resist getting my first monogrammed accessories and showing them off on Instagram like everyone else!

The first thing I think of when Marley Lilly comes to mind is their monogrammed clutches. I love how this one is in black and white and goes with all my outfits! It does come in a variety of different colors and monogram designs so it'll take you a while to decide when ordering haha. It also comes with a chain so you can either wear it as a clutch or a crossbody. What surprised me the most was how much stuff I can fit inside of it!

Now that I've got my clutch, what's next? A monogrammed tassel bracelet of course! The script monogram design looks so classy while the tassel charm makes it stand out when I'm layering bracelets.

Keep an eye out for these two accessories in my next outfit posts! In the meantime, make sure to check out or follow them on Instagram @marleylilly

Serendipity | 4 comments:

Hey guys! I'm excited to announce that over the weekend I'll be...a stylist for a photoshoot! I met the lovely Sarah at Fashion Week of Rochester and she ended up asking me to be a stylist at a shoot she's organized. I never would've thought I would be picking out clothes for a shoot that's going to eventually end up in a magazine. I'm starting to wonder what other opportunities are out there, ya know?

When I first started blogging a year ago, I only considered it a hobby. I was bored from my business classes and needed to do something creative. I never thought it would grow into a passion and would give me so many amazing opportunities. It goes to show that you have to be a firm believer in serendipity. You have to believe there can be some pleasant surprises for you out there. Just because life isn't going according to plan, doesn't mean there isn't something better for you in the future. Trust the process and have some faith that everything's going to work out. No matter what, never, ever, give up! ♥

Too Faced Friends & Family Sale | 8 comments:

When it comes to girly makeup and packaging, look no further than Too Faced. I've been using products like their Size Queen and Better Than Sex mascaras for a while now and I can't seem to get enough. When I saw that they were having a 20% Friends & Family sale I just couldn't help but make a blog post about it! Such a great deal so that you can stock up on your favorites and get a couple Christmas gifts for others as well.

Other products I would recommend from them are the Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette (it actually smells like chocolate! yum!), La Creme lipstick, and the Snow Bunny bronzer. My all-time favorite product from them is the Naked Eye Palette which I consider to be better than Urban Decay's version. I've noticed Sephora discounted Too Faced's version of this palette but luckily it's available on their site!

Make sure to use the code "take20" and click the link on the sidebar so it can take you directly to the site! The sale ends TOMORROW! Oh and did I mention free standard shipping on orders over $50? Trust me, it's really easy to spend lots of money on the site so you might as well haha.

Happy shopping!

Tweed Jacket | 11 comments:

Hat: H&M (similar) // Jacket: Forever 21 // Jeans: Hollister // Boots: Calvin Klein (similar) // Bag: H&M // Sunglasses: Express // Ring: J. Crew (old)

Finally a new outfit post! It feels like such a long time since I've posted one. School has been my main focus lately so I haven't had much time to actually go out and take pictures. Blogging is so much harder than it looks! Kudos to the many fashion bloggers out there that actually go out on a daily basis and take pictures of their outfits!

Since I've been spending all my time at school, I decided to do another college-appropriate outfit. I see way too many girls wearing Northface jackets and Uggs for the fall and just being lazy with their outfits. Honestly, I could never go to school dressed like them. I'm too much into fashion haha. I'd rather wear this tweed military-inspired jacket from Forever 21 (on sale now!) and some over the knee boots. Such an easy outfit!

I've also been having a thing with hats lately since I'm too lazy to actually do my hair. I remember in high school we were never allowed to wear hats and it was the most annoying thing. Another perk to going to college! Life is just so much easier when you don't have to do your hair haha.
